The Florida peach tree produces delicious red-skinned and yellow-fleshed fruit that ripens in mid-May and requires350 chill hours. The Florida Crest will flower beginning in February and should be fertile in early spring for best results.

This peach variety is semi-clingstone meaning its yellow flesh will grip the fruits pit even while eating. These fleshed peach stone fruits have a long shelf life and are relatively disease-resistant.

The cross-pollination from this tree is excellent for other peaches, plum, and nectarine trees. Fun fact: peaches and nectarines are the same species. Nectarines are commonly referred to as different. This is because of the absence of 1 gene that causes the loss of the fruit-skin trichomes that make it fuzz-less.
